Getting to the airport from Santa Monica
Santa Monica has a short list of rules for airport travel. These are the ones we follow.
Choose the route by the clock
The two common ways south are Lincoln Boulevard and the 10 freeway to the 405. A mid-morning run can be easy on either. Late afternoon can turn both slow, so we check live traffic before choosing.
Count back from check-in
We build the pickup time backwards from your airline’s check-in and security needs, then add a cushion for the last stretch into the terminal area. Tell us if you are traveling with children or need extra help.
Hotel pickups on Ocean Avenue
Guests leaving Hotel Casa del Mar or Shutters on the Beach often have several bags. Let us know the hotel and your room count, and we will coordinate with the bell desk and line up the right vehicle.
Meeting you at arrivals
On the way back, send your airline and flight number. We track the plane, and the chauffeur is at the agreed spot when you come out with your bags.
Private flights at SMO and VNY
Santa Monica Airport serves general aviation and charter flights. Van Nuys is another common choice for private aircraft. Tell us the operator’s name and we will line up the pickup point.
If your flight changes
Delays, early arrivals and rebooked connections happen. Call the office at any hour and tell us what changed, and we will adjust the pickup around the new time.
Business travel
Many trips from the Wilshire and Colorado Avenue office areas start on a tight clock. Ask for an early confirmation text, and mention whether you will be taking calls in the car so the chauffeur keeps the cabin quiet. Our executive car service in Santa Monica offers more on that.
Groups heading out together
When a family or a wedding party flies out together, we can send two or three cars timed to leave at the same moment. Give us each pickup address in Santa Monica and the airline, and we will keep the cars in step all the way to the terminals.
Bags and car seats
Our SUVs seat up to six with luggage. We carry child seats on request, so mention your child’s age when you reserve.
