Getting around La Mesa with a chauffeur
La Mesa sits in East County, a short distance inland from the city of San Diego, and it is compact enough that one planning conversation usually covers the whole trip. These are the places and details we ask about when a La Mesa booking comes in.
La Mesa Village
The Village is the walkable core along La Mesa Boulevard, with City Hall at 8130 Allison Avenue nearby. The La Mesa Village Association lists the Friday farmers market on La Mesa Boulevard between 4th Street and Palm Avenue, and says the boulevard is closed to traffic that afternoon and evening. For a Friday pickup, tell us a side street or the Date Avenue lot instead of the boulevard itself.
Oktoberfest weekend
La Mesa Oktoberfest takes over the Village for three days in early October. If your ride falls on that weekend, say so when you book, and we agree on a pickup spot outside the event footprint.
Grossmont Center and the hospital
Grossmont Center is an outdoor shopping center at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive, and Sharp Grossmont Hospital is at 5555 Grossmont Center Drive. The two addresses sit on the same street, so a pickup request should name the building, the entrance and the person meeting you.
Mt. Helix Park
Mt. Helix Park has a La Mesa address at 4901 Mt. Helix Drive, and the park foundation rents it for weddings. Guests heading up for a ceremony can share one luxury SUV, and we plan the arrival with whoever is organizing the day.
Freeways around town
The city’s freeway crossing plan covers Interstate 8 and State Route 125, and those are the two highways we hear about most from La Mesa riders. Give us your start and end points and we fit the route to your plan.
Families and bags
If children are riding, tell us their ages and we add the right seat to the booking. Strollers, golf bags and extra cases should be mentioned too, so the group can leave in one vehicle. A family of five or six with luggage fits in one luxury SUV.
