Getting around Santa Maria with a chauffeur
Plans here often involve a long stretch of road between stops. These are the questions we ask first, and why they help.
Which airport fits your trip
Santa Maria Public Airport (SMX) is about three miles south of the city. Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is roughly 60 to 65 road miles away, and LAX is about 155 to 165. Tell us your airline and where the trip ends, and we plan the pickup around that choice.
Wine country days
The Santa Maria Valley has tasting rooms close to the city, and the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail runs east and north from here. Bien Nacido and Cambria Winery both sit in the valley. A day of tastings is easiest on an hourly booking, with a chauffeur who drives while you taste.
Events at the Fairpark and the Elks
The Santa Maria Fairpark hosts the Santa Barbara County Fair and year-round shows, and the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo is a local tradition. Send us the gate or hall you are headed to, and the group can arrive together.
Hotels and weddings
The Historic Santa Maria Inn has welcomed guests since 1917, and the Santa Maria Country Club on West Waller Lane hosts weddings. For a wedding with guests spread over several hotels, share the addresses and the ceremony time. We plan the cars from there.
Trips south to Lompoc and Vandenberg
Highway 135 and Highway 1 lead south to Lompoc and the Vandenberg main gate. Send us the time and the gate you need, and we plan the run.
Planning the day around distance
Santa Maria is a wide city, and the best stops sit apart. A morning flight at SMX, a late lunch downtown and a tasting room east of town can all happen in one day, but only if the order makes sense on a map. We look at the stops with you and suggest a sequence before we fix the price.
Cars and seats
A sedan suits a couple or a small party. An SUV takes up to six with luggage, golf bags or cases of wine. If a child is riding, ask for a child seat and tell us their age.
