Hourly car service in Santa Barbara County: planning your day
An hourly booking is flexible, and a little structure helps. This is how we plan one.
Start with the anchor
Every day has one fixed point: a reservation, a ceremony or a tasting appointment. Tell us what it is and when, and we plan the rest of the day around it.
List the stops, then the maybes
Send the places you definitely want to visit, plus the ones you’d like to fit in if time allows. The chauffeur can add or drop the maybes as the day unfolds.
Allow for the distances
The valley wine areas sit a good drive apart. US-101 and Highway 154 connect the coast with the valley, and Highway 246 runs between Lompoc and Solvang. A day spent in more than one region has more driving in it than most people expect.
Tastings and the designated rider
The point of a wine day is that nobody needs to watch a glass. With a chauffeur, everyone in the car can taste. Ask each tasting room about its hours when you book your visits, and let us handle the route between them.
Eating on the way
Lunch is part of the plan. Tell us whether you want a sit-down meal at a restaurant, a picnic or a quick stop, and we’ll fit the timing to your appointments.
Weather and daylight
The best views on the coast and in the valley are in daylight, so a winter day has less of it. Tell us when you want to be home, and we plan the stops so the last leg isn’t rushed.
Shopping and purchases
Cases of wine, boxes from a bakery or a bag from a boutique all ride in the car with you. Mention it if you expect a lot to carry, and we’ll choose a vehicle with room.
Ending the day
Decide where the ride finishes: your hotel, a house, an airport or a dinner reservation. We can end the booking anywhere in the county, or outside it.
