Getting around Claremont by car
Claremont is compact, but a few local habits decide whether a ride runs smoothly. These are the points we settle first.
Evenings in the Village
On a busy night, parking near the restaurants takes longer than the meal. Name the place and we drop you at the door, then agree on the return pickup with you.
Visiting the colleges
The Claremont Colleges are seven institutions on adjoining campuses: Pomona, Scripps, Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, Claremont Graduate University and Keck Graduate Institute. Because they sit side by side, tell us the building or office you want, and we confirm the stop before the ride.
The 210 and the Foothill corridor
The 210 has exits at Towne Avenue and Base Line Road inside Claremont, so it is the natural route east or west. We choose the departure time with the commute hours in mind rather than hoping the road stays clear.
Arriving by train
Metrolink serves Claremont. If you step off a train and want a car for the last stretch, or you are heading out to a flight, say where you are and we meet you there.
Airports
Ontario International sits about 9 to 10 road miles from Claremont, and LAX is roughly 45 to 48 road miles away. Our Claremont airport rides page explains how we plan each one.
Early mornings and late returns
Flights leave early and dinners run late, so our line stays open around the clock. A 4 a.m. pickup is booked the same way as a noon one, and we confirm it the night before.
Campus weekends
When families visit the colleges, hotel rooms and restaurant tables fill up and the Village gets busy. Book early, tell us the hotel or the campus building, and we plan the arrival around it.
Kids and cargo
We bring a child seat on request. Mention strollers, extra suitcases or a party of six when you book, and we send the car that fits.
