Getting around Paramount by car
Paramount is small on the map and busy on the road. Three habits make rides here easier, and we plan around all of them.
Know the main streets
Paramount Boulevard is the spine of the city, and it carries the Hay Tree, Paramount Park and a long line of shops. Rosecrans, Alondra and Garfield run across it. When you give us a pickup, a cross street helps, because many addresses on side streets look alike from the curb.
Plan the freeway leg
The 105 Century Freeway has an exit at Paramount Boulevard, and most trips toward LAX start there. Trips to Long Beach Airport are shorter and often skip the freeway for a start. We pick the route by the hour of the day, not by habit.
Leave room at the school bell and the evening rush
The mean commute here is about 28 minutes, longer than a lot of nearby cities. If your ride falls in rush hour, tell us the hard deadline and we set the pickup earlier.
Weekends and school nights
Saturday brings swap meet traffic near All America City Way, and weekday afternoons bring school pickups to many corners. Neither is a problem if we know about it. Mention the day and the area, and the chauffeur picks the street that keeps the car moving and the curb clear.
Parks and city events
The city runs Paramount Park, Progress Park and Salud Park, and events there change the street picture for an afternoon. Give us the park name and the entrance you want, and we choose the drop-off point.
Pickups at homes and apartments
Many Paramount rides begin on a quiet residential street. Send a short note about the gate, the unit or the color of the door, and the chauffeur arrives without a phone call.
