Getting around Oceanside with a private car
The city runs along the coast and stretches inland toward the San Luis Rey Valley. Knowing which part of town you start in shapes the plan, so here is how we think about it.
Downtown and the pier
Downtown Oceanside sits near the Oceanside Pier and the Pier View Way and Pacific Street corner, where the old South Pacific Hotel once stood. Two beach resorts opened across from the pier in 2021, and Mission Pacific Beach Resort is at 101 Mission Ave. We can meet you at a hotel entrance or a nearby address you give us.
The harbor
Oceanside Harbor has more than 800 boat slips, and sport fishing boats leave from it. If you are heading to a charter or a dinner at the water, tell us the exact dock or restaurant so the chauffeur can plan the approach.
Mission San Luis Rey
The mission was founded in 1798 and sits a few miles inland from the coast. Weddings, tours and church visits bring guests here, and a booked car keeps a group together instead of splitting into separate rides.
Rail and Camp Pendleton
The Oceanside Transit Center is at 205 S. Tremont St., and Camp Pendleton is next to the city. Families visiting Marines and travelers arriving by train often want a private ride for the last stretch, which is a good fit for a sedan or an SUV with room for bags.
Museums, theaters and golf
Oceanside Museum of Art and the California Surf Museum draw visitors downtown, and the Star Theatre and Oceanside Theatre Company are listed for evenings. Golfers can choose among courses such as Emerald Isle, El Camino Country Club and Oceanside Golf Course. With a chauffeur, nobody circles for parking or checks directions, and the group arrives and leaves together. We confirm the pickup point for each leg when you book.
