How car service works across Kern County
Distances here decide most of the plan. Four choices shape a booking: the airport, the road, the date and the car.
Pick the airport first
Meadows Field (BFL) is the Bakersfield airport, on the north side of town near Oildale, and State Route 99 is its main signed route. Its website lists United and American flights, so tell us your airline and flight number and we follow the landing. For routes it does not serve, many travelers look at LAX, Burbank, Ontario or Fresno instead.
Know your road
State Route 99 links Bakersfield and Delano. State Route 58 climbs through Tehachapi to Mojave and carries the traffic toward Edwards Air Force Base. Ridgecrest is reached by US 395, State Route 178 and State Route 14. Interstate 5 crosses Tejon Pass, which straddles Kern and Los Angeles counties, and Fort Tejon State Historic Park sits on that stretch.
Plan around events in Bakersfield
The Mechanics Bank Arena and the Fox Theater both draw crowds downtown on show nights. Ask us about the drop-off point before the day, and we will agree it with you in writing.
Booking several pickups
A family trip might start in Bakersfield, collect someone in Delano and end in Ridgecrest. Send every address and we plan one route, with cars timed together when you need more than one.
Trips that leave the county
Many Kern bookings run south over the Grapevine or east toward Barstow. A ride between Bakersfield and Woodland Hills stays on one booking. Call early for long runs so we can plan them properly.
Base and site visits
China Lake near Ridgecrest, Edwards Air Force Base off State Route 58 and the Mojave Air & Space Port are working sites, so access is arranged by whoever invites you. Give us the gate or building name your host provides and we plan the arrival around it.
Cars and seats
A sedan suits one to three riders. One SUV carries up to six with luggage. Child seats come on request, so give us the ages when you book.
