Getting to the airport from anywhere in Kern County
The best airport depends on where you start and who you fly with. These are the questions we work through with you.
Which airline, which airport
Start with the ticket. If it leaves from Meadows Field, we plan a short drive from Bakersfield and a longer one from Delano or Wasco. If it leaves from Los Angeles, the whole trip becomes a long road run, and we build in extra margin.
Leaving from Bakersfield
Most of Bakersfield uses State Route 99 to reach Meadows Field. Because the airport is on the north side near Oildale, we send the pickup time with the route in mind, not just the distance.
A Bakersfield pickup for a flight at Meadows Field is the simplest booking we take. Tell us the number of bags and any help you need getting in, and we plan the stop with that in mind.
Leaving from Delano or Wasco
These towns sit along the valley’s highway corridor. A ride to BFL is one booking, and a ride to the Los Angeles airports is another that leaves much earlier. We confirm both timings when you reserve.
Leaving from Ridgecrest
Ridgecrest is reached by US 395 and State Route 178, so the road to Bakersfield or Los Angeles is a real journey. Passengers sometimes ask about Inyokern Airport first. We check with you which airline you hold before we plan anything around it.
Crossing the Grapevine
Interstate 5 climbs through Tejon Pass between Kern and Los Angeles counties. Weather and traffic can slow it, so we plan a buffer and will move the pickup if the flight moves.
Early flights and late landings
A first flight out of Bakersfield means a pickup in the dark, and we confirm it the day before. A late arrival is the opposite problem: the chauffeur waits on your actual landing, not the scheduled one, so you are not stuck at the curb.
Bags, gifts and extras
Tell us about golf clubs, car seats, boxes or anything awkward. One SUV carries up to six passengers with luggage, and we plan the space before you travel.
Private aircraft
If you fly privately, give us the field and the operator’s name. Meadows Field has fixed-base operators on site, and we coordinate the meeting point with you.
Arrivals
Your chauffeur monitors the landing and meets you at the arrival point we agree beforehand. We confirm the details by message or phone before the day.
