Getting around Alhambra by car
A few local details change how we plan a ride here. This is what we think through before the car leaves Woodland Hills.
The 10 and the 710
The 10 runs through the southern part of the city, and the 710 reaches its northern end at Valley Boulevard in the southwest. Depending on the hour and your destination, we pick whichever corridor is moving.
Main Street and Garfield Avenue
This intersection has been a center of commerce since 1895, and today it holds restaurants, retail, entertainment venues and Auto Row. Evenings can be busy, so tell us the exact door or restaurant and we’ll plan the curb.
Weddings and events at Almansor Court
Almansor Court sits on the Alhambra Golf Course at 700 S Almansor St and hosts weddings and corporate events. For a ceremony day we ask for the arrival time and the guest list, then time the cars to match.
Appointments near Alhambra Hospital Medical Center
The hospital is at 100 S Raymond Ave. If you or a parent has a morning appointment, book the ride in both directions so the return is already arranged. Child seats are available on request.
Crossing city lines
Alhambra borders San Marino, South Pasadena, San Gabriel and Monterey Park, plus the Los Angeles neighborhoods of El Sereno and Monterey Hills. We pick up on either side of the line for the same booking.
Parking and curbs
Curb space varies from the residential tracts to the busy blocks near Main Street, and the exact pickup spot is worth settling early. Your chauffeur calls or texts when they arrive, so you can step out at the right moment instead of waiting on the sidewalk.
Airport distances
Road figures we checked put Burbank at roughly 18 to 19 miles, LAX at about 25 and Ontario at about 33. Burbank is the shortest of the three, though the right choice depends on your airline.
