How to book the right black car in L.A. County
Booking a black car is simple, but a few details make the ride better. Here’s a quick guide to choosing a vehicle, understanding the price and getting the most out of the service.
Sedan or SUV?
A luxury sedan is the classic choice for one to three passengers with normal luggage. It’s quiet, smooth and easy to pull up to a crowded curb. Choose an SUV if you have up to six passengers, a lot of bags, a car seat or golf clubs, or if you just want more headroom. Groups larger than six can book more than one car.
What goes into the price
Your quote depends on a few things: the distance, how long the trip takes, the vehicle you choose and whether you need the chauffeur to wait. Hourly bookings are priced by time instead of distance. Once you book, that number is set. It won’t jump because of rain, a big game or rush hour, which is exactly when on-demand prices climb.
A couple of things can add to a trip, and we’ll mention them up front: extra stops you add along the way, extra waiting time beyond what you booked and venue parking or airport fees where they apply.
One way, round trip or as directed
- One way. Pickup and drop-off. The most common booking.
- Round trip. We take you there and come back for you at a set time, like after dinner or a meeting.
- As directed. You keep the car by the hour and go wherever you like. See hourly car service.
Booking for someone else
Many of our rides are booked by an assistant, a spouse or an event planner. Just add the passenger’s name and mobile number. We’ll send them the pickup details and keep you posted too.
What you can expect from the chauffeur
Your chauffeur arrives early, in business attire, with a car that’s been cleaned and checked. They’ll help with bags, open the door if you like and keep conversation to whatever you’re comfortable with. Smoking isn’t allowed in our vehicles, and the cabin temperature and music are up to you.
When a black car makes the most sense
Some rides matter more than the distance suggests. A job interview, a first meeting with a client, a ride home from a hospital, a showing for a home you’re selling or an evening you want to go perfectly. In those moments, knowing exactly what car is coming, and that it will be on time, is worth a lot.
