Getting around Wasco with a private driver
Wasco is a small city with a plain street layout and two state routes that do most of the work. Here is how we think about its parts when we plan a trip.
State Routes 43 and 46
Both highways serve the city, and Highway 46 is where the Best Western Plus Wasco Inn & Suites stands, at 1704 Highway 46. Guests who arrive on the highway usually want a pickup at the hotel entrance, so tell us which door you plan to use.
6th and 7th Streets
The Wasco Historical Society & Museum is at 918 6th Street, and the high school auditorium that sits on the National Register of Historic Places is at 1900 7th Street. A visitor interested in local history can book one chauffeur for both stops and a meal in between.
Palm Avenue and Rose Festival weekend
The Wasco Rose Festival runs four days, starting the weekend after Labor Day, and its event listings include the gym at 1017 Palm Avenue. Festival weekends change where people park and walk, so send us the hour and the entrance you want and we plan the drop-off around it.
Banquet halls and receptions
Wasco K & R Banquet Halls is an event venue in town. For a reception, we can collect the wedding party at home, move guests to the hall in groups and arrange the ride back.
Wasco Airport
The public airport has one asphalt runway of 3,380 feet and serves light general aviation. A pilot or passenger who wants a car at the other end of a flight can send the arrival window and we line up the chauffeur.
Fields and farm roads
Open farmland surrounds Wasco, and the roads out of town are long and straight. A pickup at a rural address needs a clear description or a map pin, which you can send when you reserve.
Beyond the city limits
Bakersfield is the larger city to the southeast, and most long trips head there first. The pickup address and the destination decide the route, and we confirm the fare when you book.
