Getting around Delano with a private driver
Delano is a compact city with a clear grid and the highway never far. This is how we think about its main parts when we plan a trip.
Garces Highway
Garces Highway carries two pickups that come up often. The Forty Acres, a National Historic Landmark since 2008, is at 30168 Garces Highway, and the hospital is at number 1401. Send us the exact address and the arrival time and we plan around it.
The Forty Acres and the strike history
The Forty Acres was the headquarters of the United Farm Workers, and the Filipino Community Hall is where farm workers voted on September 7, 1965 to strike Delano-area grape growers. Visitors interested in that history can book one chauffeur for both stops.
Cecil Avenue and Memorial Park
The Delano Chamber of Commerce is on Cecil Avenue, and Memorial Park at 104 S. Lexington Street hosts community events such as a fall festival and car show. Large events change where guests are dropped off, so tell us which entrance you plan to use.
Highway 99 hotels
Hyatt Place Delano offers 10,000 square feet of event space, and a Holiday Inn Express also stands on Highway 99. For a wedding or a meeting, we can collect guests from the hotel in groups.
Delano Municipal Airport
The city runs an uncontrolled public airfield with a 5,651 foot runway and light aviation services. Private pilots and their passengers who need a car at either end of a flight can send us the arrival window, and we line up the chauffeur and the vehicle.
Beyond the city limits
McFarland, Wasco and Arvin are close, and Bakersfield is the larger city to the south. The pickup address decides the route, and we confirm the fare when you book.
Booking a Delano trip
Most requests need four details: pickup address, destination, date and time, and number of riders. Add luggage, a child seat or an extra stop and we build it into the plan.
