Getting around Ventura with a chauffeur
Ventura is a long, narrow city between the freeway and the sea, and where you start shapes the ride. These notes reflect how people usually plan a day here.
The waterfront
The Ventura Pier sits on the Beachfront Promenade, and Surfers Point and Harbor Cove Beach are close by. Seaside Park holds the Ventura County Fairgrounds (10 W. Harbor Blvd), where the county fair runs in summer and other events fill the calendar. Name the gate, hotel or street corner when you book so the chauffeur arrives at the right spot.
Downtown and the mission
Main Street is lined with shops, and Mission San Buenaventura anchors the Downtown end. Evening plans work best with a pickup and a return time agreed together, so you are not hunting for a car after dinner.
The harbor
Ventura Harbor is where Island Packers boats leave for Channel Islands National Park, and Ventura Harbor Village sits at 1583 Spinnaker Dr. Early boat departures are easy to plan around when we know the dock.
Freeways
US 101 is the main road through town. Highway 33 starts at an interchange with it, and Highway 126 meets it as well. We pick the route on the day with the traffic in mind.
Flights and the train
Santa Barbara Airport is roughly 40 road miles away, Burbank about 60 and LAX roughly 70. The Pacific Surfliner stops at 39 E. Harbor Blvd, a short walk from the fairgrounds. For a celebration evening, our limo service in Ventura page explains how we use sedans and SUVs.
