Getting around Palm Desert with a private driver
Palm Desert covers about 27 square miles of land, so where you start shapes the plan. These notes cover the parts of town our riders mention most.
El Paseo and the center of town
El Paseo is the city’s shopping and dining district, known for public art and upscale stores. Tell us which restaurant or boutique door you want, and we plan the drop-off and the pickup point for the ride home.
McCallum Theatre and College of the Desert
The McCallum Theatre sits on the southern edge of the College of the Desert campus, which has its own address on Monterey Avenue. On show nights, give us the theater’s address and your curtain time, and we work backward from there.
Golf communities
Palm Desert has many country club communities, among them Bighorn, Ironwood, Indian Ridge, Monterey Country Club, Desert Falls and The Lakes. Gated entrances usually need a name or a code, so send the street address and any gate details when you book.
Sun City Palm Desert
Sun City Palm Desert is a gated, patrolled community with its own clubhouses and boulevards. Homeowners and their visitors often ride to Palm Springs International, and we plan those pickups from the gate details you send.
Campus visits
The Palm Desert Campus of Cal State San Bernardino is at 37500 Cook Street, and College of the Desert is at 43-500 Monterey Avenue. Visiting parents, speakers and staff often need a pickup at one of them, and a short note about the building saves a loop around the grounds.
Resort and zoo stops
The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa is on Country Club Drive, and The Living Desert is on Portola Avenue. Both are common pickup and drop-off points for visitors who arrive without a car.
