Getting around Carlsbad with a private car
Carlsbad stretches from the ocean to hills inland, so where you begin changes the plan. These are the parts of town we hear about most.
The Village and the Barrio
The city calls the Village and the Barrio its historic heart. The Carlsbad Village station on State Street is the stop for COASTER and Pacific Surfliner trains, which makes it a natural pickup for guests who arrive by rail and want a car for the last leg.
Paseo Del Norte
This is the stretch for the Flower Fields, Carlsbad Premium Outlets and the Museum of Making Music. LEGOLAND California is close by, east of the I-5. On a spring bloom day, give us the entrance you plan to use so the chauffeur can approach from the right side.
La Costa and Aviara
Omni La Costa Resort and Park Hyatt Aviara are two of the large resorts people name for weddings and retreats. Aviara is also a neighborhood, so share the full hotel or street address when you book.
Poinsettia and the south coast
Poinsettia Shores and Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, at 1 Ponto Road, sit toward the south end of the city by Batiquitos Lagoon. A second train stop, Carlsbad Poinsettia, serves this side.
Inland neighborhoods
Bressi Ranch, Calavera Hills and Rancho Carrillo sit away from the beach. For an early flight from one of these, we plan the departure around your boarding time, and we confirm the details when you book.
